fried rice!!

so apparently i am in an asian mood this week (shocking). mostly i wasn't sure what to cook up for dinner, and then realized i had some ingredients leftover from my garlic noodles that i needed to use up, and you can never go wrong with fried rice.

i won't lie, i make fried rice OK. i mean it tastes good, but it's always a little to wet for fried rice. doesn't taste quite like my mom's version. however, i think i made some great strides tonight!! i think a big part of it has to do with the rice. you have to cook it just right so the rice isn't too wet to begin with or it's all down hill from there. i also fried the rice by itself for a little in the wok before throwing in the other ingredients (that i had previously tossed in the wok for a few minutes) to give it some more flavor.

everyone puts in different ingredients, but i put in peas, carrots, beansprouts, chinese sausage, chicken andouille sausage (i had it in my freezer--don't judge!!), and green onion. to season the rice, i put in soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil and then some salt to taste.

i can't wait to eat it for my lunch tomorrow :)
